So you ordered from Amazon...

Since Amazon is run as a marketplace, there are many 3rd party sellers who advertise that they sell K&S products. Some of these sellers are likely obtaining K&S products through distributors or channels that are not explicitly authorized by K&S for resale. However, we created this page because we want to help get you to the right place so your order can be fixed.

A common issue that arises with Amazon orders is that they direct you to the manufacturer for seller related issues. Some examples include: Not receiving the correct quantity that was displayed or receiving incorrect material. Typically, this a seller related issue and anything ordered on Amazon needs to be resolved via the 3rd party seller or Amazon themselves.

Here is a step by step guide on what to do if you ordered on Amazon and there is a problem

Step 1 - Pull up your invoice

Since Amazon is a marketplace, there are many 3rd party sellers who sell off the Amazon platform and fulfill orders that you purchase. Here is how you find out who sold you the products. You can find out who the seller is by viewing your invoice.

1. Go to "Your Orders" page.

2. Click on "View Invoice"

Step 2 - Find the name of the seller & contact them

When you view an invoice, every item that you purchased shows who the item is sold by. Sometimes this will say "Sold by Amazon.com", but for K&S products, the majority of the time this is usually sold by a 3rd party seller. You can click on the name of who is displayed on the "sold by" section and reach out to them.

1. Find out who sold you the items by finding the "sold by" section under the item

2. Click on their name and contact them from their seller page. If difficulty arises, reach out to Amazon customer service at: 1-888-280-4331. Let them know that this is a Amazon 3rd party seller related issue, not a manufacturer issue.

Step 3 - Get it straight from the source

A 3rd party seller is someone who can sell on a marketplace like Amazon, yet they are not the brand / manufacturer, or Amazon themselves. Amazon makes it incredibly easy for anyone to sign up to their platform and sell.

There are many 3rd party sellers on Amazon who sell K&S Precision Metals products, but they are likely ordering product through a distributor or channel that we (K&S) have not explicitly authorized for resale through online marketplaces.

You can look at the "buy box" and it will tell you who the seller is for the listing you are looking at. Usually this is underneath the "buy it now" or "add to cart" button. Additionally, there is typically a "other sellers" button to see how many different 3rd party sellers are selling an item.

Unfortunately, Amazon defaults to giving out our information instead of properly giving the information of who actually sold it to you. In most, if not all cases, this is not correct. They are a very large entity, so our voice is very small for them to consider this feedback.

Your point of contact and resolution will always be either the 3rd Party Seller or Amazon themselves.

There are many 3rd party sellers on Amazon who we have no relationship with. We do not know if they are even genuinely selling K&S products. This still shouldn't deter you from making a purchase on Amazon if you choose, as Amazon does still have very strong return policies for customers and the sellers to abide by.

Issues from 3rd party seller are not just limited to Amazon. They can happen on any marketplace website. Here are some of the issues we have seen:

1. Not sending the advertised quantity. (Most common) We sell and package our SKU products in specific quantities. Sometimes these SKUs have 3, 4, 5 or more pieces bundled in a pack. Sometimes, 3rd party sellers may or may not be aware of this and only send it as 1 piece. (e.x Our SKU 1146 comes with 5 pieces per pack for $28.99, but the 3rd Party Seller is selling it for $18 and they only send you 1 piece.) If this comes up, it needs to be resolved with the 3rd Party Seller or Amazon like any other issue.

2. Receiving an empty box (Yes, it has happened a few times) This issue isn't very common, but it is very odd. From our understanding, this tactic is used from a 3rd Party Seller when they may have run out of supply for a product and they are trying to keep their Amazon account in good graces. They would rather have a good fulfillment ranking, so they fill the order via an empty box. We highly encourage you to email us at support@ksmetals.com with your Amazon order # and the name of the 3rd Party Seller if this happens. While we can't resolve the issue for you and that needs to be done via Amazon, we want to take note of potential predatory selling situations.

3. Damages to my purchased products. This one is a bit nuanced because it could be an issue related to how the courier handled the product or if the seller had a product that was damaged prior to selling. In other cases, it could be that the courier did not handled the package with care, but the seller did not package the box in a way that could protect the material. This does come up from time to time, and like any other issue, it needs to be resolved with the 3rd Party Seller or Amazon.

Any issue that involves a poor experience with a 3rd Party Seller can be reported by clicking on the name of the 3rd Party Seller on Amazon's platform, then navigating to the "feedback" or "contact support" sections.

*Disclaimer* Everyone makes mistakes. Including us from time to time. Not every listing on Amazon is for a 3rd party seller. Each listing is clearly labeled on who is selling you the product. In fact, we are selling on Amazon as a "3rd Party Seller" as well under our name K&S Precision Metals.

Our objective here is not to deter you from buying from Amazon or any marketplace, it is to equip you so you can go through the proper channels to have your order corrected or returned if that is needed.

To be clear, this does not mean that every time you see a K&S Precision Metals product on Amazon, that the order is coming from us. You can either find us within the "buy box", or under the "other sellers" section on a product page.

If we are not listed under our own advertised and branded product, it could mean that we no longer supply that item and it is discontinued, or it could be an alternate listing. (See the FAQ about this)

Multiple listings for the same product exist because of Amazon's massive marketplace structure, where different sellers compete to sell the exact same item. While Amazon aims to keep its catalog clean, duplicate pages happen due to a mix of system mechanics and seller loopholes.

You may find that one exact K&S product has 2 different listings. We encourage you to review ratings and seller feedback before picking one or the other to purchase from.

This means that Amazon has determined a seller's offer is the default selection of a specific product when a shopper clicks "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" on a product page. Since multiple merchants often sell the same item, the other sellers who have "not won the buy box" would be listed in the "other sellers" section under a product listing.

There are many factors that contribute to a seller winning the buy box. It is usually a combination of fulfillment methods, location, pricing, or seller feedback ratings.

Any products listed under the "K&S Brand Store" do not mean that we (K&S Precision Metals) actively sell each product under our own brand store. These items can still be coming from Amazon themselves or a 3rd Party Seller. We simply act as a content coordinator for these listings.

Our responsibility of the "K&S Brand Store" is only limited to providing accurate pictures, descriptions, and information regarding the material we manufacture.

Unfortunately, due to some of the nature of Amazon's platform, some listings can be intentionally or unintentionally altered. We have a dedicated team that looks to improve listings or correct mistakes made by 3rd Party entities who may intentionally or unintentionally alter information.

If any advertised information seems to be inaccurate or questionable, please send a page link of the product page in question to support@ksmetals.com. We will review and do what we can to fix these issues with Amazon as best as we can.

Keep in mind, there are still product pages that can be created by alternate parties on Amazon's marketplace platform that we may have no jurisdiction over. This is only in reference to the ones that we have jurisdiction over.
