How does it work and what do I need to know about customs, duties, or taxes?

What is Global-E?
Global-E is a partner of Shopify (our website platform provider)
Shopify allows us (K&S Precision Metals) to use resources within our platform to make ordering seamless for customers. In this case, Global-E acts as the Merchant of Record for all of our international purchases that are processed with taxes & duties paid up front.
When you make a purchase from us, we (K&S Precision Metals) are still fulfilling your order, but Global-E becomes the merchant of record so they remit all of the taxes & duties so we do not have to get tied up in those matters.

How does the order process work?
If you are ordering internationally, it is not much different than ordering like you already do, plus we do all of the work up front.
When you are checking out on ksmetals.com, all of the duties & taxes (if applicable), are calculated up front at checkout based on your location. Instead of working with a broker / courier to pay the difference, we use Global-E to take care of the calculation and remittance when you pay the charges at checkout. This allows you the freedom to have a quicker shipping experience.

What should you consider when ordering?
If you have a VAT number, it may not be in your best interest to order using ksmetals.com & to reach out to support@ksmetals.com for an alternative experience.
Our primary courier for shipping internationally us UPS. In some cases, an option for DHL may be available when using a PO Box only.
Once the duties & taxes are paid, they are likely not recoverable from Global-E. You can review their TOS here.
